Great Threats

Great Threats are events that occur on certain Acts on set intervals of time that send some sort of challenge at the player. Great Threats will chase the player through the entire floor so long as they are able to reach them. The timer for a Great Threat to appear starts once the player enters a new floor.

More specifically, Great Threats spawn after an initial timer, and then a reduced timer for every subsequent spawn for that floor. Timers are specific to each Act and Floor.

The Fountain Fortune Infrequent Threats doubles each timer, and Relentless Threats halves each timer.

Act 3

The Great Threat for Act 3 is a wave of Fallen Heroes spawned from the Statues that need to be destroyed in order to proceed. If all of the Statues are destroyed, the Great Threat can no longer spawn. Therefore, it's recommended to destroy the Statues quickly to stop the Great Threat.

Act 4

The Great Threat for Act 4 is a Monstrous Eye spawned from a Pentagram on the ground. In Multiplayer, two Monstrous Eyes will spawn instead of one.

Act 5

The Great Threat for Act 5 is the Vampire Lord Boss from the end of the Act, however he appears with less health. He begins at the top of the map near the exit to the next Floor and will teleport towards you after spawning. He only attacks with his two main attacks from the boss encounter, the rapiers and the sword swipes.

He can also spawn white bats which will inflict darkness on the player. This is a very dangerous encounter if it happens whilst in the middle of a trap, but there is a cooldown between encounters, so it's best to wait for him to appear and kill him before attempting a complicated trap room to ensure the greatest amount of uninterrupted time.
